History - The story so far

Chanced upon by a British army officer Captain Young in 1827, this tiny wooded inhabitation fast turned into a Victorian resort, with its central Mall, a library and an Anglican Church. Though the town has grown far beyond its colonial past, with posh hotels and guesthouse thronging the ridge, some parts still retain the old-world charm of a quiet country resort.

How to Reach

Air: Indian Airlines connects Jolly Grant Airport, 24 km from Dehradun, with Delhi. Taxis are available to reach there. The Jolly Grant Airports besides Rishikesh-Dehradun State Highway. Uttarakhand State Road Transport Corporation buses stop in front of Airport Gate.

Railway: The nearest railhead is Dehradun which is 34 Kms. from Mussoorie. It is the Northern Railway terminus connected to all major cities such as New Delhi, Mumbai, Howrah, Lucknow, Varanasi, Amritsar, Saharanpur, Haridwar, Rishikesh, Allahabad, Ujjain, Indore, Kathgodam, Okha.
