Places to Visit during South India with Kerala Tour: Mumbai – Madurai – Periyar – Kumarakom – Marari
Day 01: Mumbai: Welcome to India. You will be received at the international airport of Mumbai. Assisted to your hotel and check in. Rest of the time free for leisure.
Day 02: Madurai: In the morning you will be transferred to the domestic airport of Mumbai to board the flight to Madurai. On arrival you will be assisted to your hotel. Rest for a while. Visit the Thirumal Nayaka Palace and the Dravidian masterpiece Meenakshi Sundereshwar temple which makes the city of Madurai so famous and pulsate with festivities.
Day 03: Periyar: In the morning you will be transferred in your exclusive vehicle to Periyar National Park – One of the best jungles in India to see wild elephants. Day free to explore on own.
Day 04: Periyar: Visit the National Park on boat over Periyar lake where several wild animals congregate at different times.
Day 05: Kumarakom: In the Morning you will be transferred in your exclusive vehicle to Kumarakom an island with a beautiful bird-sanctuary and extremely serene atmosphere.
Day 06: Kumarakom: Day free to relax and explore around.
Day 07: Houseboat: In the morning drive downwards to plains. Board a houseboat from the vemvanad lake. The House Boat (Kettuvalom) – a traditional rice barge converted into a houseboat with a fully furnished bedroom, attached bathroom, living room and sun deck.
You will have your exclusive chef who will prepare tasty meals and seafood for you. For the whole day and night you will be moving over the backwater canals witnessing every aspect of backwater lifestyle in a leisurely manner. You have the discretion to ask your boat to be moored at any point you find appealing.
Day 08: Marari: In the morning you will be transferred to the Marari-the exotic tropical beach destination. Day free to walk around the beaches.
Day 09: Marari: Day completely at discretion.
Day 10: Marari: Day at leisure. Drive to Madurai to board the flight for Mumbai. On arrival you will be transferred to the international airport to board the flight back to home.
