History Of Albert Hall

The Albert Hall Museum in Jaipur, also known as the Government Central Museum, stands as a splendid example of Indo-Saracenic architecture, blending Indian, Persian, and European styles. Its foundation stone was laid in 1876 by the Prince of Wales, Albert Edward, during his visit to Jaipur, and it was named in his honour. Designed by Sir Samuel Swinton Jacob, the construction of this architectural marvel was completed in 1887, and it has since become a symbol of Jaipur’s rich cultural heritage. Officially opened to the public the same year, the museum houses an extensive collection of artefacts, including paintings, jewellery, carpets, and more, offering a captivating glimpse into Rajasthan’s vibrant history.
