History of Bagore ki haveli

Bagore Ki Haveli is a grand mansion located in Udaipur, Rajasthan, India. It was built in the 18th century by Amir Chand Badwa, who was the Prime Minister of the Mewar kingdom. The haveli is situated on the banks of Lake Pichola and offers a beautiful view of the lake and the surrounding city.

The haveli is a fine example of Mewar’s architecture, featuring intricate carvings, jharokhas (overhanging enclosed balconies), and beautiful courtyards. It has over 100 rooms, each with its unique charm, adorned with traditional costumes, antique furniture, and artworks from the royal era.

In the 19th century, the haveli was taken over by Maharana Shakti Singh of Bagore, and it became the residence of the royal family of Bagore. Over time, the haveli fell into disrepair, but in the 1980s, it was restored by the government and transformed into a museum.

Today, Bagore Ki Haveli is a popular tourist attraction, where visitors can explore the royal rooms, see old photographs, and enjoy cultural performances. The museum showcases various aspects of Rajasthani culture, including puppets, costumes, and musical instruments. One of the highlights of visiting the haveli is the evening dance and music show that gives a glimpse into the rich cultural heritage of Rajasthan.

Bagore Ki Haveli stands as a testament to the rich history and culture of Udaipur, making it a must-visit destination for history enthusiasts and tourists alike.
