History Of Monkey Temple

The Monkey Temple in Jaipur, also called Galtaji Temple, is like a story whispered through time. Though the beautiful buildings we see today are from the 1400s, legends say holy people chilled out here in the Aravalli Hills for much longer, maybe even thousands of years! Imagine wise folks seeking peace way before Jaipur was even a city. In the 1400s, a determined saint named Payohari came along and made this his special place, turning it into a centre for a religious group. The temple itself is super cool, carved right out of pink rocks and feeling more like a secret palace than a place of worship. And don’t forget the monkeys! These cheeky fellas are like the mascots of the temple, adding a playful touch to this historic spot.

  • If you wish to bring your camera and tripod to the Monkey Temple, there is a fee of ₹150.
