Places to Visit during India Pilgrimage Tour: Delhi – Udaipur – Deogarh – Jaipur – Agra – Khajuraho – Varanasi – Haridwar – Harsil – Rishikesh – Delhi
Day 01: New Delhi: Welcome to India. Daylong sightseeing of Old Delhi (Shahajahanabad) and Lutyen’s Delhi (New Delhi).
Day 02: Udaipur: In the morning fly to Udaipur-the Lake City. Trip to Shilp Gram arts and crafts village. Sunset boat trip over Lake Pichhola.
Day 03: Udaipur: Sightseeing of the city and shopping in the local bazaars. Visit Bharatiya Lok Kala Mandal for Rajasthani dance performances. Optional dinner at the opulent Shiv Niwas Palace.
Day 04: Deogarh: After a leisurely breakfast drive towards Deogarh visiting Eklingji and Nagda on the way before finally checking in. Stay in Deogarh Mahal- a palace of great character and ambience. Option of taking a unique safari on horses to the villages in this region of rugged terrain.
Day 05: Jaipur: Transfer to the Pink City – Jaipur. On arrival check in the hotel. Evening free to walk in interesting old bazaars.
Day 06: Jaipur: After breakfast move out for a sightseeing tour of the City Palace Complex, Jantar Mantar and Amber Fort. Evening at discretion to try one among several options- shopping, visit a farmhouse for local Rajasthani dinner or taking a walk through the streets lined with great heritage buildings.
Day 07: Agra: Drive to Agra visiting the abandoned citadel of Mughal Emperor Akbar known as Fatehpur Sikri on the India Pilgrimage Tourway. Finally reach Agra and check in. Proceed for sightseeing tour of Agra which includes the most beautiful monument of love – The Taj, Agra Fort and few other attractions.
Day 08: Khajuraho: Reach Khajuraho by flight. Guided tour of the great temples which date back by more than a millennium.
Day 09: Varanasi: Reach by flight. Walking tour of a few Ghats and narrow backlanes to feel the pulse of this most sacred city of India.
Day 10: Varanasi: Early morning boat ride on river Ganges to witness holy rituals on Ghats. A very spiritual experience! Day tour to Sarnath where Buddha delivered his first sermon.
Day 11: Haridwar: Take flight to Delhi and drive to Hardwar. Situated by the river Ganga it is one of the holiest Hindu cities. While walking through its streets on the banks of Ganga you will observe a great mix of pilgrims from all over of India who bring with them their peculiar cultural traits and costumes. In the evening watch the mesmerizing spectacle of river prayer when hundreds of oil lamps are floated on water.
Day 12: Harsil: Drive along the length of Ganga up in the Himalayas. The route covers spectacular scenery and deep gorges. On arrival at Harsil, you are free to explore the mountain valley.
Day 13: Harsil: Drive to Gangotri, the sacred spot where Ganga is believed to originate. Take a long walk towards Gaumukh where you will see drastic change in landscape- tree line receding, emerging barren ness, glaciers and snowIndia Pilgrimage Tour peaks. You’ll see many yogis and saints meditating in the divine heights of Himalayas here.
Day 14: Rishikesh: After a long drive reach Rishikesh. Rishikesh is the perfect place to know about India’s religious and spiritual aspects as well India’s ages old techniques of yoga and meditation. Evening free to explore the quieter Rishikesh on other side of Ganges known as Swargashram. Have a feel of the spiritual atmosphere with several ashrams around. Also watch the evening prayers of holy river Ganga.
Day 15: Rishikesh: Morning introductory Yoga session and meditation followed by herbal meals. Day to be used in adventurous sport of river rafting over the challenging rapids of Ganga. Evening free to explore on own.
Day 16: Rishikesh: Day free on your own. Suggested jungle walks.
Day 17: New Delhi: Drive back to New Delhi. Walk in the busy Connought Place markets for last minute shopping.
Day 18: Departure: At appropriate time transfer to international airport for the flight back home.
